When the locked drawer was pulled open, there was a scent of dry paper.

At the very bottom, a notebook lay pressed, its pages slightly yellowed at the edges. The handwriting blurred on the aged paper, some strokes appearing rushed due to the quick lifts of the pen.

This pink is not the vibrant pink of peach blossoms, but rather the faint, persistent warmth at the ears when one lies or feels shy. It is the crumpled and then smoothed-out notes that were never delivered.

Many thoughts in youth are like this, ethereal, fearing to be seen through, yet also fearing not to be understood. Within that transparent glass shell, too many unspoken words are wrapped. Some words are destined to circle in the throat a few times, eventually transforming into an extremely faint hue on the skin, quietly and properly put away.
